Chapter 3 – Quantitative Reasoning The second section of the general GRE test is quantitative reasoning, which is also the lengthiest and the most important of all the three sections. One Analytical Writing Section – 2 writing tasks; 30 minutes per task, 60 minutes total Two Quantitative Multiple-Choice Sections – 35 minutes per section; approximately 20 questions per section Two Verbal Multiple-Choice Sections – 30 minutes per section; approximately 20 questions per section One Unscored Multiple-Choice Section – typically either a Verbal or a Quantitative section.
Numeric entry questions – These types of questions may be a little trickier than the other three and may require more time to solve.
Remember: getting the easy section means limiting how high you can score, so you want to aim for the more difficult sections..
